Our State Sweetheart, Ms. Pearl Draves, pointed out that it is unfair that young men get to do the Kach Essay Contest and win money for well written and thoughtful essays, and the young ladies do not.
Pearl is 100% right.
In consultation with our amazing Sweetheart Director “Mom” Cook, New York DeMolay has created a third essay category for the Kach Essay contest which is for Sweethearts and Past Sweethearts between the ages of 12-21 to be able to enter.
The rules are the same: “If you could add an 8th Preceptor what would it be?” Essays must be between 1,000-1,250 words and are due by March 30, 2020 via email to PWBrusoe@gmail.com
First place wins $300, second place wins $200, and first place wins $100. These are the same as the New York Prizes for the DeMolays.
