5. Astronomy Applet Project - https://astro.unl.edu/
See how different solar system objects move in space.
This site has been glitchy lately and may not work properly
6. Tour a National Park - https://www.nps.gov/index.
Many of the parks have amazing pictures and videos. Yellowstone (my favorite at this point) has a virtual tour. Pick a state, select a park and under the “Learn About the Park” section you will find images, audio, and video. Some parks have virtual tours too.
7. USGS (United States Geological Society) Volcano Hazards Program - https://volcanoes.usgs.gov/
Explore the volcanoes of the US. There are numerous volcanoes around the US west coast. Some are very active, while others have not done much for 100s of years. Hawaii also has a National Park you can explore with the link in #6.
8. Explore the Surface of Mars - https://accessmars.
The title says it all. A real VR tour of the RED Planet
9. National Hurricane Center - https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/?
Hurricane season is not that far away. While hurricanes don't usually have a direct impact on us in NY, they can have an indirect impact on us. Under the Educational Resources Tab there is a ton of information on terminology, How to Prepare (Good for lots of hazardous weather), Wind Scale, and more.
10. National Weather Service - https://www.weather.gov/
ALL THINGS WEATHER. Under the Safety tab learn how to prepare for a variety of weather related events, Under Past Weather you can look up records, and there too much on this site to list it all. Explore and learn about the world of weather.
