Space: The First Meeting of the Mind

Space: The First Meeting of the Mind

On April 6, 2020 New York DeMolay hosted its first “Meeting of the Minds” with “Dad” Zack Panitzke Mr. Chris Kagy and Ms Linda Thomas-Fowler. They presented an astronomy primer to DeMolay brothers from across the Empire State.

“Dad” Panitzke, Mr. Kagy and Ms. Thomas talked about the evolution of modern astronomy from 1609 to the present. They presented a number of different resources for the DeMolays to go out and learn about the universe around them.  Including celestial objects that may be seen by the naked eye, as well as objects that can be seen by simple binoculars.

The group also presented a number of different resources the DeMolays could use as they began their own star gazing. DeMolay thanks “Dad” Panitzke, Mr. Kagy and Ms. Thomas for taking the time to share their knowledge and expertise!
