Dear DeMolay Brothers:
We hope that while our chapters are not hosting in-person events or meetings that you are taking the time to do meetings (skype/zoom/facetime/google hang outs), as well as working your Representative DeMolays, Leadership Correspondence Courses, and Kach Essays for consideration for the New York Prizes.
Our Grand Master had some fantastic ideas that I wanted to pass along:
1) Be thinking about a “reunion” event for when in-person activities can resume, invite parents, advisors, potential members, make it a fun event!
2) LCC completed will count towards attendance bar. Many of our young men work hard to earn their attendance merit bars. At the suggestion of our Grand Master I am directing chapter award advisors to count each LCC completed as a meeting, and the completion of the RD to count as five meetings.
Our Grand Master also had guidance on virtual meetings.
1) Any business meeting held must be declared open and closed.
2) No ritual is to be performed in this virtual meeting except the prayers and the Nine O’Clock Interpolation (Updated 3/27/2020)
3) No new members may be inducted using an online or virtual meeting.
Our Grand Master has indicated that as this is an evolving situation this guidance may also change.
As always, if you have questions or concerns please let me know!
Yours for a stronger and healthy New York DeMolay,
“Dad” Brusoe
